Thanks for visiting!
1/17/2008 Day 17I know it has been too long since I posted but i really have no chance of winning anything since my husband has given up, just doesn't want to do it. I on the other hand have kept up with the diet and exercise and did not lose a pound this week so even though i am discouraged, I am not giving up, I know that if I continue, my hard work WILL pay off. If you know of anyone else whose partner has ditched them please let me know. I'd love to find a new partner to share my goals and motivation with. 1/6/2008 Day 6It is day 6. I weigh daily and I am 5 lbs down. I feel good about the progress I've made. We had family here this weekend so it is harder to stay on track but I have done it with the exception of Friday night dinner, we had my down fall which is mexican food. Jerry will weigh weekly so we are not sure of his progress yet but he is eating better, his soda intake has been reduced greatly from 12-16 a day to no more than 2, he has diabetes so is always thirsty and is now drinking more water and iced tea, no sugar added.
We have realy loaded the house with good choices and we are both grabbing the fruits/vegetables instead of chips, donuts and candy. My daughter who is 15 is even eating healthier, she is not overweight but she is very short, only 4'9" so she will always need to be careful and hopefully we are teaching her to grab the right choices. She also tends to eat when she gets bored so having the right foods in the house will be helpful for her. 1/2/2008 January 2, 2008I am 34 years old and have 2 children. I have been overweight since the birth of my first child. My heaviest weight was October 2006 at 183 lbs. I decided in December of 2006 that I had had enough and started eating right and exercising. I lost 35 lbs which is great but I have put back on another 12 due to a move from Oklahoma to Arizona. I start this challenge at 163 lbs and i am only 5'1" so I want to lose 38 lbs and get down to 125. I am very healthy, I don't have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes... I am fortunate, but i hate the way I feel and look. I want to feel better and also like what I see in the mirror.
And now for my husband, his story is a little different. He is 37 years old, 228lbs and 5'7". He wants to lose 40 lbs and needs to desperately. He has numerous medical problems including diabetes that is out of control. He has always had to watch his weight, he was overweight as a child but has never had a healthy diet. Because of his medical conditions the plan of attack for him will be to get him moving and restrict his soda intake from 12-16 per day to 1 and also just making smarter choices.
My plan of attack because I don't have any health concerns will be a little more restrictive. I will start with my diet of 1200 calories per day and I am currently reading Jillian Michaels "Winning by Losing" and plan to follow her plan the best that I can. I am really out of shape so it may be a slow start but i am determined to finally lose the weight and help my husband get in better shape for his health. (That's 78 lbs combined-273000 calories) Good Luck to everyone! |
